Social Differences in Education: A survey of key social differences (race, culture, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, gender, class) and how they shape the social world, educational achievement and experiences, and life chances.

Introduction to Higher Education: This course helps students to understand the purpose and values of higher education; cultivate the skills, strategies, abilities, and traits that can enable success in postsecondary education and beyond; and feel more confident in your university studies. The course is highly experiential and will require you to reflect deeply on why you are in university and what you hope to gain from the experience, as well as to work actively to achieve your personal and academic goals.

Media, Education, and Gender: An exploration through the fascinating and disturbing world of advertising, pop culture, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, and violence and how education holds the promise of social justice and change.

Society and education: A focus on how society shapes education and vice-versa. Does education replicate society or transform it? Or both at the same time? Whose interests are served in either case?
